OBJECT: Approval of the guidelines for the management of the hyperbaric chambers in sanitary public and private environments.

6.0 PERSONNEL REQUISITION.

Is opportune to fix the minimal criterions of personnel that must be present in each hyperbaric center.
They in each moment of the activity will be guaranteed all the functions. The personnel will be organized, direct adequately, integrated good with the Operative Units of the Department of Prevention from Hospital.

The activity will be turn on the base of writings procedures that face be the therapy it is the procedural appearances of transport of the patients from and for the zone of "transfer."

It needs to remember that the graduated personnel will owe follow the sanitary functions from a side and those technical from the other necessarily.

The technical manager of the center must be graduate in engineering (preferably with address of bio-engineering).
E' useful specify that the hyperbaric technician and / or the hyperbaric nurse doesn't continue the state actual specific schools. It restrains useful propose for the technician and the nurse a diploma (brief degree) addressed to the correct management of the patient. Such course must possess the requisite of exportability to European level.

It's besides opportune underline the need to foresee a formation for all the professional involved figures.

Least requisite of the present personnel.

Close to the technical manager and to the sanitary one of the center, for the routine management will be scheduled at least:

	an hyperbaric technician;
	a physician for every chamber in action and,
	all the sanitary personal necessary.

During the therapy inside the chamber will be the physician.

On express assumption of responsibility of the executive sanitary provost, for exceptional demand and particular urgencies could be effected hyperbaric treatments with sanitary qualified personnel. Its priest's robe exceptions they will be document.

 

Professional requisite of the personnel.

Technical Assistant:

Is the technician that is concerned with the correct operation of the hyperbaric chamber and of the technical auxiliary services. Necessary is that continues a course of qualification.

Technical director:

Graduate in engineering preferably with bio-medical-address.

 

Formation.

The present personnel in the areas of Hyperbaric medicine actually with the exception of the physician (anaesthesist) with specialty in hyperbaric medicine, it's not in possession of any specific diploma. It's restrains therefore necessary and priority propose the situation of courses of formation for the figures you graduate in matter:

b) hyperbaric technician: (access with diploma of mechanical expert) specific course of the duration of at least 500 hours during two years with teaching of elements of mechanics, fluidodynamics, electrotecnic, reactivity in hyperbaric environment, circumferentors in hyperbaric environment, conditioning of the air, physiology, fisiopatology respiratory, hyperbaric therapy, safety on the job, 626/ 94, emergencies, notions on the hospital organization and on the own responsibilities of the qualification. Practical apprenticeship of at least 6 months.

At the end it will be scheduled theoretical and practical examination with release of certificate.
c) legitimization: in the delay of the start than above the personnel that operates for 5 years at least, previous verifies with examination "practical" it will receive analogous certificate.
